LETS GO “CHURCH”

Church feels like it is no longer a noun but a verb. To church is to seek to understand those who are different. To church is to stay connected with those who are feeling disconnected from their church family right now. To church is to love our neighbor who is hungry, who is poor, who is sick. To church is to worship faithfully inside or outside the sanctuary. To church is to reach beyond what makes us comfortable because we love God that much.

Christmas Boxes, December 18 & 19

  • FCC needs 2 volunteers to help prepare Meals Inc’s annual Christmas boxes on Friday, December 18 at 6 pm at The Presbyterian Church.
  • All churches and organizations involved in Meals Inc are invited to deliver the regular meals and the Christmas Boxes on Saturday, December 19th.
  • 19 drivers needed –  9 will deliver the normal Saturday meals and the 2nd set of 10 drivers will deliver the Christmas boxes (would be great to have drivers with trucks, vans or SUV’s due to the number of boxes). One driver can do both deliveries to route 8 since there is only 2 stops.
  • 4 people to help put hams into boxes and loading Christmas boxes into vehicles
  • 5 people to help with serving line, wrapping and cleaning up kitchen and bathrooms

Housing our neighbors struggling with homelessness during the cold months.

This year Room in the Inn at FCC will look a little different. We will host 10 men struggling with homelessness on the 4th Friday of the month starting next week: Nov. 27, Dec. 25, Jan. 29, Feb. 26 and March 12.

Guests and Inn Keepers will stay in Carter Hall so they can practice safe social distancing. Room in the Inn will supply the Inn Keepers and FCC will provide the food.

How can you help?

1. Provide Dinner: Make 12 pre-portioned meals that includes an entrée, two sides, a drink and dessert. FCC can provide paper products for packaging the meals.

2. Provide Breakfast: Drop off pre-portioned breakfast food Friday night. Please include a drink and something the guests can grab and take it with them the next morning.

3. Provide Lunch: Drop off a bagged lunch Friday night for the following day. 10 servings that include a sandwich, snack, fruit (of some kind), dessert and a drink.
