First Christian Church Community Grocery Manager- Part Time 

20 hours/ week

Accountability: The Community Grocery Committee Chair, Gary Verst, Associate Minister, Rev. Kyle McDougall and the Senior Minister, Rev. Megan Huston

Purpose: The Community Grocery Manager will be responsible for…

Responsibilities:

  1. Be available during Grocery hours
  2. Be present at monthly Community Grocery committee meetings (3rd Wednesday)
  3. Coordinate with Shift Leaders to address any issues or needs 
  4. Place Feeding America order monthly alongside Julie Boca, while staying within the budget. 
  5. Place any other food orders as needed throughout the month (Meijer, Aldi) alongside Julie Boca, while staying within the budget.
  6. Coordinate volunteers for Feeding America delivery (1st Tuesday) 
  7. Manage grocery store inventory which includes picking up special orders.
  8. Purchase program supplies working alongside the church administrator
  9. Coordinate with the committee Treasurer about monthly purchasing budgets and item costs. 
  10. Connect with other nonprofit organizations and resources in the community in order to share information with our neighbors. Post pertinent information on social media.
  11. Help to plan small group meetings with neighbors including educational classes, nutritional meal planning, and fun gatherings.
