Education Hour: “Open Minded Faith” 

Join us for education hour September 8-October 27 at 9am for a series that will explore popular scriptures, put them into context and give space to practice reading texts with openness, curiosity, and love. This is a two-part series, but no preparation is required and if you miss a week, you can jump right back in. Facilitated by: Jeff Miner & Alan Smith

Part 1 — Context (September 8-October 6) – we will read some of those one-liner verses that fit neatly on a bumper sticker and dig into these familiar verses’ deeper meanings while considering the historical and cultural context from where they arose. 
Part 2 — Bible Stories for Grownups (October 13-27) –  we will explore some of those classic stories that we might have learned at VBS or in Sunday School as children, and consider new details and interpretations that these familiar stories might still have for us to uncover.
